Every Which Way but Loose Reviews
Take it for what it is-- a fun movie!
There's lot of things you can criticize about this movie: a beer drinking orangutan? a gang of bumbling bikers? a shotgun wielding Ruth Gordon? You can call it simplistic, misogynistic, or just plain stupid. But somehow it all works. This is a fun movie that brings you back to the seventies when life may have been a bit simpler (or maybe not). "Every Which Way But Loose" is sort of like an extended country music song, replete with barroom fights, good hearted women, heartbreak, pickup trucks and lots of highways. When Clint Eastwood was getting ready to make this movie, Burt Reynolds said Clint was heading into "his" territory. If it succeeded, he promised to make "Dirty Harry Goes to Atlanta," which he essentially did in 1981 when he directed and starred in the underrated "Sharkey's Machine." Take this movie for what it is, a fun movie!
