Great Time
I really loved this movie, it's my current favorite. I missed it when it was at theaters but bought it because I thought it looked like it might be good and it was so much better than I even expected. Scotty and his friends have just graduated high school and go on a trip to Europe. I laughed through alot of it, it has alot of jokes about Europeans and the typical sex jokes. I really think it was funnier than the American Pie series, which I also enjoyed. I loved the robot fight, and Matt Damon in the band singing Scotty Doesn't Know was so funny, it's a great song to go with the movie. Kristin Kreuk made a great Fiona, the whole cast was really great. I liked Michelle Trachtenberg since her days on Buffy and the boys that are newcomers were really cool. Scotty is a cutie and a sweetheart and Cooper is really funny and bears a resemblance in look and talk to David Spade. Jamie and Jenny (Michelle T.) are the "worst twins ever". I love the Creepy Italian Guy and the Manchester United guys, they were all really funny. The music is pretty cool too, I went and got the sountrack after watching the movie so many times. The deleted scenes are excellent!! I think alot of them should of been left in the movie, they let you watch about 12 of them. My faves are Michelle trying to hitch a ride and the woman who runs the Amsterdam hotel. It also has a funny gag reel with it. I recommend this movie to people who love raunchy, funny teen movies.
Touring the old world with a smile
In the tradition of "National Lampoons Animal House" and "American Pie" comes "Eurotrip", a trashy gross-out sex comedy. It is low brow and crass, but if you like that kind of thing (I know I do), then you will like this. Scotty (Scott Mechlowicz) is a recent high school graduate cruelly tells off his e-mail pen-pal, only to find out that the pen-pal is actually a sexy girl. So Scotty and his lazy buddy Cooper (Jacob Pitts) go to Europe and hook up with some friends that are already there; non-identical twin siblings Jamie (Travis Wester as the walking travelig guide) and Jenny (Michelle Tranchtenberg, in a sexy role proveing she's all grown up now), and get involved in one misadventure after another. As I said this movie is pretty trashy, but it's all in good fun, and it's the best comedy I have seen in a long, long time. Director and co-writer Jeff Schaffer deserves a nod; it isn't often that I like a comedy (that dosn't mean I don't like comedies, it's just I don't like a lot of what I see). The actor all do a good job with what they are given. By the way, my favorite scenes are the nude beach and the scene in Vatican City. It isn't deep, but it is funny, and that is what counts.
