The book, Ella Enchanted, was a magnificent tale. A good solid plot with great, realistic characters. Ella Enchanted really touched me and it has its own place in my heart. If you are a beloved reader like I, I'm telling you, DO NOT WATCH THIS MOVIE! You will be SEVERELY disappointed. Just read the book.
There was nothing the same in the movie, except for the name. Singing elves? Elves for lawyers? Talking snake?! I don't think
"Ella Enchanted" would be a proper name. How bout, "Ever After" or "Shrek", which, by the way, are much better movies. This movie took away those little details that made the book magical and enchanted. I was enraged that a great classic had its name on that...that...THING!!
Why Isn't This Movie According to the Book?? The Book is Sooo Much Better!
I really hope that this movie was made according to the book. The book is really fun compared to the movie. Much more fun!! The movie wasn't too fun...Some parts ARE pretty funny though. In the book, the father is mean to Ella not nice! The ending of the story is like Cinderella. Ella isn't told to kill Char and she also doesn't her spell there! Hattie also wears a wig which is funny (in the book)! Mandy is supposed to be an old cook not a young lady with black hair!
I also wish they didn't use Anne Hathaway for the roll of Ella. I wish they used a prettier actress...But I don't know who.
The movie is rated PG for crude parts and language. I didn't pay too much attention on the language. But from what I recall, I don't think they used too much of a bad language.
The whole story is that Ella has a curse of obedience from a fairy named Lucinda. When Ella is all grown up, her mother dies and so Ella's father marries a lady named Dame Olga who has two daughters named Hattie and Olive. Hattie and Olive are mean to Ella and order her around...Now to stop the two mean girls from ordering her around, Ella goes to places and tries to find Lucinda to break the curse. While Ella goes to lots of places, she meets a prince named Prince Charmont. The two of them fall in love...One day, Prince Charmont asks Ella to marry him...but Ella is cursed...If Ella marries Prince Charmont when she is still cursed, there will be lots of dangerous things. Ella might be ordered to kill Prince Charmont! Watch the movie to see what happens. Read the book if you aren't satisfied with the movie!
