Ed Gein Reviews
Alright but could have been better,
This is one of those movies that doesn't completely reck of boredom but is right up there. I would call this movie "much (Freddy) ado aboot nothing" The playa that played Gein lookes like the crazy man but its just pretty stupid. I mean Ed what do you need that bloody anti-freeze for anyways. Better than Dahmer but worse than Gacy. Try to avoid this jobber of a movie unless your AD CL or JMa

Ed and His dead Mother
Steve Railsback gives a compelling and complex performance as the notorious cannibal and necrophile, Ed Gein.
The film is low key and very effective. I think where Mr Railsback's performance really shines is in showing the isolation and sadness inherent in the material. Ed Gein is not portrayed as a raving psychotic but his schizophrenia is shown to be powerful and crippling, coloring all of his perceptions and actions. This film also excels in showing how a serial killer is MADE thru yrs of emotional and physical abuse at the hands of his religious-fanatic mother.
This is probably the most accurate representation of the sick, sad, lonely saga of Ed Gein.
