what a wonderfull . . .
i want to be don juan demarco. this is every man's silent fantasy . . .
but from a more pragmatic viewpoint, if i could only have such a woman by my side as the good doctor had . . .
this is every man's fantasy . . .
oh, wait, i do have such a woman . . . and we both cried at one point or another . . . anyway, we both laughed out loud frequently. all the more reason to watch it with someone you love.

Don Juan Is Quite The Lover
I saw this as a young teen on TV, recorded it, reveled in it, and it forever became one of my most favorite movies. Bear in mind that in movies I tend to latch onto something that's special to me and dwell on it like an enchanted fanatic. For a movie to become my favorite it likely has to have a thoughtful and languid portrayal of romance, sensuality, passion or tenderness, and emotional imagination that matches mine. Don Juan Demarco had it all, and the way he portrayed it was comedic, fun, cute, silly, to the heart. This movie is great to watch alone or with a loved one, but probably not with anyone else. It's just too special, I think, as it zones in a bit on one's romantic perceptions. This shows a man who is kind, hot, loving, giving, who sees, who listens, who truly feels, who knows, who understands. He is a poetic fantasy, my fantasy. No matter what terrible experiences I have or get freaked out (all where troubles regarding men or life are concerned) the thought of beautiful Jonny Depp's beautiful character brings on a smile of hope and of being loved without actually having anyone in my life. I loved how he had such vision and depth when observing women and their artistic beauty, both the beauty of within and without. He could make anyone feel oh so very fine. His appearance, his clothes, his skin tone, his accent were all wonderful. The way he conveys his sentiments of the past, the present, the future, his women, the "fire within" him... it's
all extraordinary when considering this is not a movie specifically made for such things. Imagine if it were, for then he, or any man acting in his place, would move the viewer to their core. Some things he says and does are wonderful, like the four questions he asks his psychiatrist.
What is Sacred?
Of What is the Spirit Made?
What is Worth Living For?
And What is Worth Dying For?
The answer to each is the same: Only Love.
It's a movie that feels short sometimes. It combines romance, comedy and drama, but only pieces of it, so it's light and bubbly, which probably explains how the movie can feel short. Nonetheless, one isn't likely to find this too light, just as they aren't going to find it too deep. It has just the right amount of everything, and is not overdone, nor stretched out. I suppose it's really an amusing private journey that is interesting to watch.
I totally recommend buying this movie.
I certainly have it ;)
