Steer clear of this clunker
Both my husband and I came very near to walking out of this film in the theater. Matt and Ben were funny together in the past so we thought this was going to be a real treat. Well, the acting, production values, script, dialogue, intellectual depth - just everything about this thing was severely subpar. I can't believe they're trying to resurrect this piece of crap for new, unsuspecting audiences. Yes, I can believe it. Incredible.

The best of Kevin Smith's films!
In all aspects, this is the greatest of all Kevin Smith's films. Its the funniest, it has the best story, and the best acting.

Pretty much all of Kevin Smith's films are funny. Clerks was hilarioius, mallrats was funny, even chasing amy was pretty funny. Dogma is just plain hysterical. Normal Kevin Smith laughs, plust it co-stars Chris Rock, who always adds to the humor of a movie, and my favorite stand up commedian of all time, George Carlin. The humor in this movie may be a bit controvercial if your a very strict follower of Catholocism, but if not your sure to enjoy it.

The story is great. Two angles (Ben Affleck and Matt Damon) who were banned from heaven by god. They attempt to get back into heaven by having their sins forgiven and dying, therefore getting back into heaven. If they get into heaven, they will prove God wrong, and all that God created will be destroyed. Now Bethany (Linda Fiorentino) who was chosen by God, with the help of the two prophets, Jay and Silent bob, must stop the two angles and save the world.

The reason I liked the acting in this movie, is that Matt Damon had a very large part. Ben Affleck is usually known as a better actor, but personally I hate him. But Matt Damon on the other hand is one of my favorite actors. Also the smaller roles that Chris Rock, and George Carlin were spectacular!

Overall this is one of the best comedys of the 90's. Unlike most of the comedys of the 90's, it had an exelent story and great acting. Highly recomended.

What a horrible movie
Not clever, not funny. With the amount of talent in this movie, how could someone miss so badly? This movie is aboslutely one of the worst I have ever seen.
