This Has The Makings For A Cult Film Following!!
WOW, I had no idea Johnny Depp could play Elvis! This musicical ROCKS! If you thought the Elvis movies were a little too pat, take a look at this! A would-be simple plot, add some great tunes, and Johnny Depp swiveling and growling about his best girl, and you got yourself a cult following! She's a square, but he's gonna bring her into his gang and let her be cool and sing hot! He goes to juvey hall and does the jailhouse rock, while she sings outside to get him sprung early. And quite a list of off-beat characters in this flick, each with their own unique nickname! My favorite scene is Johnny teaching the square to french kiss the cool way! Check this movie out and turn the volume up for the music, but keep an eye on Johnny and his gang.

I wouldn't recommend this film. I think I got bored. It was so long ago, but I believe I was bored.

why on EARTH is this not on dvd?!?!
I thought that this film was great and fantastic for cheering you up. The songs were really catchy and cheesy (in a good way) and Johnny Depp looked incredible. A must for ALL fans. It just makes me wonder what is going through the directors head by not putting this on dvd, it is mazing.
