Communion (Special Collector's Edition) Reviews

Altogether an enjoyable movie FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY! empty skull, sniff.
All in all, I have to say that I enjoy this movie very much. I first saw it when I was very young (right after it came out) and it got to me just as much then as it does now.

I will admit however that to a person who isn't into the UFO phenomena it might not make a lot of sense. Being very big into the paranormal myself (practically my whole life), I will say that it even took me a while to fully understand what was going on in this movie. Ultimately however at the end there isn't much that can or can't be proven as no one can really claim to know the full truth (at least that I know of :)).

Altogether I give this a 4 out of 5 stars. If you're into the UFO phenomenon, you'll probably enjoy it. If you're not, it's still a fun movie to sit down to on a friday night with some popcorn and have a few thrills.

Not all that convincing FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY! empty skull, sniff. empty skull, sniff.
Even though I read 30-odd pages of Communion before coming to the conclusion that it was just a little to far-fetched, I thought I'd see what the movie had to offer. Well, to be quite honest, it did nothing to convince me that my initial conclusion from the book is unjustified. Are we seriously supposed to believe that aliens who apparently have the ability to visit our planet from great distances have such impracticle body structures, and that they've come all this way simply to[...] probe Earthlings? I'm by no means a sceptic when it comes to this topic, and am willing to give anyone the benefit of the doubt so long as their story isn't completely absurd--which is the case with Communion.

The DVD contains a very short clip of the surgical removal of a supposed alien implant from some guy's arm. This may sound sensational, but it most certainly is not. Not surprsingly, we are not allowed a close-in look at this "alien implant" and, no less surprising, the clip ends with a statement to the effect that the nature of the "device" has yet to be determined. And I'm sure that it has since been "mysteriously" lost so we'll never know what it was. Isn't that just always the case?
