Best Movie Ever Made
(...)It was wonderfully acted and shot beautifully and kidman, zellweger, Law, and Natalie Portman do an excellent job in this VERY EPIC movie. And from the looks of the dvd, its going to have some sweet special features.

If you like movies see this...if you hate movies, go watch Daddy Day Care or The Friday after Next.

Well, I finally got around to seeing "Cold Mountain."----and I'm sure glad I waited till it came to the dollar theater. I love Nicole Kidman and thought she was amazing in "The Hours." But Nicole, take a break--you're making too many movies. Poor acting and ZERO chemistry between her and Jude Law makes for an extremely dull film. Rene Zellweger adds a little spark to this overblown and pretty unconvincible southern accent drama. Jude Law is good---but Natalie Portman steals the show as a widow living alone with an infant. The worst of all---the length. I thought it would never end. Save your time and money---rent the DVD(if you must) when there's a discount day at Blockbuster. A BIG disappointment.

deserved more than one Academy Award
Great Movie! I saw it at the theatre same day as the Academy Awards, and stayed for the credits at the end. Glad I did as the song "My Ain' True Love" (played by Alison Krauss, written by Sting) was worth the price of the movie itself. Was disappointed it didn't get best song at the awards that night.
Great acting, great story, great job of production and direction. Scenery is splendid. Learned a lot about the home front here in North Carolina during that war. An eye-opening experience. A+, number 1, what else can I say?
