Johnny Depp and Chocolate!!!
This movie was absolutley brilliant. Even though I have the biggest crush on Johnny Depp, I would of still liked it without him (but I was glad he was in it). I remember the first night I saw it; I had some chocolate (ofcourse)and I thought to myself, what could be better than Johnny Depp in a movie about chocolate while eating chocolate? Let me tell you.....NOTHING!!!

The spirit of chocolate personified.
"Chocolat" is delicious! It captures the spirit and lusciousness of chocolate and personifies it in a terrific cast. Not only the writer of the original story, but the director, too, must be chocolate lovers. Highly recommended.

Best enjoyed with some chocolate and red wine!
I loved the overall themes in this movie. In fact, a guest speaker at my church once did an entire sermon on the spiritual messages of Chocolat. I have been afflicted with wanderlust ever since I was a child, and so Vianne's constant moving spoke to me. I also enjoyed the themes of acceptance and redemption and people's ability to change, even when you think they couldn't possibly. Entertaining in and of itself, this film has some wonderful messages not so carefully hidden. Great performances across the board.
