where the drinks are cool and the piano's hot
Is it glossy? Yes. Focused on crime and immorality? Yes. Predictable? Not so much. Politically correct? Nope. Come on folks, we're all adults here, (or should be if you've seen this movie.) It was a treat seeing stars of the magnitude of Richard Gere, Catherine Z-J, and Rene Zellweger step out of their usual sort of work and really strut their stuff. Let's not forget the beautiful and sassy Queen L. Whether or not this show deserved all the rewards it garnered is questionable, but the biggest crime was ignoring the fantastic, tongue in cheek performance of Richard Gere. You gotta wonder why. Who knew he could sing and dance? Anyway, Chicago is a great musical and the movie version is great entertainment. Thoroughly enjoyable.
Praising intolerable acts of crime through feminism at men.
Honestly, I think this movie is horrible in its entirety. I understand during the time period that this story was written that women's rights were not on level with men, but the story is negative in many ways. Considering the fact that most of the women that are jailed in this movie (besides the one who is innocent) committed crimes of homicide against men, shows that this movie has no consideration for a male audience. It states that if women flaunt their "stuff" they can avoid the judicial system and get away with murder. I had no sympathy for the characters and their horrid acts of violence. It also states that men will do anything for women. Whether money is involved or their wife who deserves to be in jail is involved, women should have more rights then men because they have been suppressed. I could go on for hours talking about how bad the story is, but I'll move on.
The acting in this movie is underwhelming. Renne Zellweger is an actress with very little talent, considering the fact that she's had so much plastic surgery done to her face that I can't tell what mood she is trying to convey. What can I say: none of the actors or actresses in this movie impressed me.
If you want to see a good feministic movie watch Thelma & Louise.
where is the toilet, have to puke...............
