Two and a half hour Fed Ex commercial
Before this movie companies used to pay for spots inside movies themselves (any time you see a real brand in a movie it is because someone paid a lot of money for the "air space") so even after all the little commercials included inside the movies you still got some story. But Cast Away changed it all, now, you get many commercials disguised as movies (and you pay to see them!) were the WHOLE argument of the "story" centers around a brand (in this case Fed Ex) thus effectively making movie length commercials. Enough said!.
The extras are almost as good as the movie.
I really like this movie. It says to me that after times of very severe troubles, there is still the possibility of a good life.
The extras show how this movie is made, and they reveal where special effects were used, and in some cases, where the special effects (at least to me) looked seamlessly real.
This movie shows how good an actor Mr. Hanks is.
