Flap!
It's painfully obvious the screenwriter here learned all he knows about "chaos theory" from Jeff Goldblum's speech about it in "Jurassic Park."
Wait - that's where I learned all I know about chaos theory!
I don't own many movies, but this is a must-have!
My husband and I do not own many movies, but this is one we bought right away. It is the type of movie that you need to see more than once to absorb all the intricate details. If you enjoyed movies like "Pulp Fiction" and "Memento" because of the non-linear progression of time, you will love this film.
I was skeptical of an Aston Kutcher movie because of his previous silly comedies like "Dude, Where's My Car?", but he is a first rate dramatic actor in this film.
The infinifilm features are also fun if you enjoy things like deleted scenes and "what was the director thinking?" type explanations.
Love it!
Remarkable Movie!!!!!!!!!!!!1
This is honestly one of the best films that I've ever seen in my entire life. Actually it is so good, I am compelled to write a review....... something that I've never done before.
I first saw this movie at home on cable. When I started watching it, I really didn't think much about it (almost expected it to be mediocre actually) because I hadn't once heard anything good (or bad). I figured a movie as profound as I found out it was should have AT LEAST created some sort of stir among someone I knew...
I haven't gone through all of the reviews, so I don't know if this was mentioned prior to me mentioning it here, but what REALLY struck a chord with me(and actually what the movie teaches you in general) is that EVERYTHING that happens in your life effects you. It affects how you look at things in the future, it affects your confidence, it affects your attitude, etc. Okay, maybe this of course is a given but the bigger meaning is that seeing this movie really opens your eyes to seeing what is always said is REALLY true!! Especially when you see it in front of you like that. Seeing it in your face really goes to show how an individual's attitude towards events in their live's can go either one way or another. And in the end, the life that you live can go one way or another too ;)
Basically, everything that occurs to us... WE have control how we react and therefore HOW it affects our future. The event does not control us; rather we control how the event affects us after it occurs. Very quantum theory/kabbalahistic/spiritual I would say. I actually plan on watching this movie from time to time (along with "What the Bleep Do We Know) in order to keep this important point in the forefront of my mind :)
