GREAT MOVIE!
I LOVED THIS MOVIE! I FIRST SAW IT IN THEATERS AND I THOUT IT WAS REAL GOOD!I GOT IT ON DVD THE FIRST DAY IT CAME OUT!I RECCOMEND THIS MOVIE FOR EVERY KID IN THE WHOLE WORLD!THE GROWN-UPS WOULD PROBABLY LIKE IT TO!I HOPE THEY MAKE A BROTHER BEAR 2!

Good story, bad soundtrack
I very much enjoyed the underlying message of empathy in Brother Bear. The story was sweet and different. The animation was beautiful, not ground-breaking, but well done. A scene early on in the film where the three brothers go fishing and kayak down impossibly high falls was particularly exciting and well done.

I gave this movie 4 stars out of 5 because I found the soundtrack (even the opening song by Tina Turner) a real drag. The songs were too long and not even annoyingly catchy like the Aladdin and Pocahontas soundtracks. I also found the extremely chirpy voice of the young bear cub "Koda" grating. The voice of Kenai was wonderful as were the voices of the moose brothers. They produced the most belly laughs from the audience: children and adults alike. A little side bit involving rams was also pretty funny.

The kids I saw the movie with (7 and 11) liked it but didn't seem to love it like they loved Finding Nemo.
