Passes the "good or bad test"on the plus side,but is definitely
NOT a horror movie.There are several love scenes here,little horror,and not as much gore as CP 1,2,and 3.But i also think it is boring in the beginning,and it is the most PREDICTABLE movie iv'e ever seen.Without seeing it,you'd probably know the story anyway-which is not so with CP 1-3,for Child's Play as a title is not predictable.But this movie-from the instant "tiff"rescues chucky's battered parts,you know what'll happen.The scares here are mostly false,but is sometimes horror-like,for 2 or 3 scenes.
The worst part is-this movie was made in 1998 and now it's 2002.I was expecting "son of chucky"In 2000 or 2001!If they don't refresh the Chucky story like done in this film,it will give all these films terrible ratings,which is not fair.I know it has been from 1992-1998 as a gap beetween CP 3 and BRIDE OF CHUCKY,but that was simply becuase of the complex layout they were probably planning.As for the "Son of Chucky"At the end,that should be taken out further and Refreshed-in CP 5!.I need to have a new sequel,and if the makers read other reviews ,everyone else aggress-No Sequel=Bad News.
Bride of Chucky is definitely the best Chucky film
While at one point i would have said that Chucky 2 was the best Chucky film of the whole saga, i just watched the Bride of Chucky and changed my mind completely. The Bride of Chucky is full of horrific scenes, full of gore and lunacy, yet this movie does not fail to bring several laughs. Chucky and his girlfriend Tiffany not only bring about hell yet they also bring about humor, which i think is a very important part of this movie which makes it so unique. John Ritter also plays an excellent role as the evil uncle of teenager Jade, and literally attempts to break the relationship between herself and her young love Jesse. In this movie, Chucky and Tiffany play the roles of an excellent dynamic duo, who are not only portrayed as crazy villians, but heroes as well. They manage to kill off several seemingly "evil" characters, yet also maintain their evil qualities and characteristics, which brings a whole different side to Chucky's character. Chucky is able to evolve in this movie as a true CHARACTER, showing that he has different dimensions to his character such as a satirical sense of humor. He is not just portrayed as a serial killer doll like in the first three films. Overall this is a combination of both comedy and horror, a rarity in films, and it definitely does not fail to deliver excellence. I must reccomend this ilm. The ending also left many people to wonder if there would be a 5th film, and there will be: "The Seed of Chucky". Hopefully that brings an end to one of the best horror sagas. All in all, at first i was skeptical in buying it but when i watched it i realized the price was worth it, the 90 minutes were largely enjoyable, and the film overall was brilliant
