"Sons Of Scotland, I Am William Wallace!"
'Braveheart', the Academy Winning film from '95 tells the story of William Wallace, the Scottish poet/warrior and patriot that inspired Scotland in their fight for independence from England in the early 14th century. Mel Gibson is magnificent as William Wallace in this cinematic gem that will linger in your memory long after the ending.
Filmmaking just doesn't get any better than this, 'Braveheart' is storytelling at its zenith. Cinematography, epic landscapes, bloody battles and a tender love story and an unforgetable soundtrack combine into one grand tapestry providing the ultimate viewing experience that touches upon almost every human emotion.
This is a film you can watch over and over again and still enjoy as though it were your first viewing. My Highest Recommendation!
Amazing Movie! Bad DVD!
Youve already read what people think of the movie so I'll just talk about the DVD. It has rushed product written all over it!
The quality of the video, though widescreen, looks like it was transfered from the VHS version! There's so much grain on the screen, especially on long shots! Sound is decent at best. Hardly any extra features. The box art has low quality print on it. Though some may not care, for the rest of us who would like to appreciate this work of art in all it's splendor, will unfortunatley be disapointed. Come on! It's Braveheart! We deserve a Special Edition Remastered Version! Please!!!
Braveheart
Mel Gibson as a medieval Scottish Rambo. I spent the first hour waiting for something to happen, and when it finally did I found it difficult to care. The second hour had me laughing where it was supposed to, and I learned that the great thing about kilts is you can moon the British army. Hundreds of bare white backsides, or frontsides if you prefer. The third hour was a bit long. This was a loaner, and I fast-forwarded through all the action scenes, so it wasn't so bad. Since so many of my students write about it, I guess I had to watch it. I solved some crossword puzzles at the same time.
