Autism
Joon is autistic (not schizophrenic). Very insightful portraying how autism and its comorbids affects an adult individual and his/her family, loved ones and environment. With sense of humour. Great acting.

Early Johnny Depp
Although this is one of the early movies when Johnny Depp was just starting out, The acting was as usual fantastic and the movie was great. It was funny but also had an excellent story behind it. I already had the movie on vhs but purchased it on DVD so I could watch it more often. I'm not sorry at all and enjoy watching it each time.

Another Great Performance By Johnny Depp!
Benny and Joon is a good movie about Joon a schitzophrenic woman played by Mary Stuart Masterson and her brother Benny played by Aidan Quinn and there is also the eccentric Sam played by Johnny Depp who falls for Joon. The whole cast is great but especially Johnny Depp who in this movie does a delightful imitation of Charlie Chaplin in a scene in which Sam who is a fan of him imitates a scene from a Chaplin movie. FYI: Johnny Depp who in real life is a Charlie Chaplin fan got to portray Chaplin in a movie about his life.
