A Film to Remember!!
This title of the film says it all! The film is a classic love story with some traditional aspects thrown in. I have read both the book and the film several times and never grow bored of them. They have a complete chick flick tatooed across them but still have the male veiwing because every one can relate to it in one way or another. There is a very strong story line that was adapted from the 1950s novel by Nicholas Sparks. The toryline is kept practically the same except it has been brought up to date. The role of Landon Carter, the tpe of rebel in the town, was given to Shane West who was increasingly believable about his growing and undying love for Mand Moore's character, Jamie Sullivan. Jamie Sullivan is the Ministers daughter who has lost her mother and is ver much the goody-good girl of the town. The more time Landon has to spend with Jamie the moor he likes her and the moor time he leaves his friends to be with her. There is a twist in the stor that makes everone know how Jamie and Landon feel for each other. I personally would recommend that ou read the book first as it gives a better approach to the story and a better understanding and appreciatment of the depth of the story. The film is brilliant and every one should at least see it once and the soundtrack compliments th film although the film is absolutel billient on its own.
Deserves more than 5 stars!!!
This is definately not another teen movie. In most movies with romance, the relationship is based on sex and nothing else. In this movie there is none of that, and only romance. Jaimie Sullivan (Mandy Moore) is very spiritual and is invisible to the character of Shane West. But of course he realizes that love isn't all about looks, its about how you feel on the inside. At the beggining all he cares about is what his friends think. But he is forced to join the Drama club with Jaimie and gets the lead role. At the performance Jaimie looks so beautiful and sings a beautiful songs that makes him realize how wrong he was about her. He slowly looks into the depths of his heart and soul and quickly forms a deep relationship with Jaimie. And then something terrible happens that will turn things upside down. This movie is a definate TEAR-JERKER and pretty much a CHICK FLICK and surely a ROMANCE. Even the toughest of people will start to cry like a baby in the movie
One of the most beautiful movies I've ever seen
"A Walk To Remember" tells the story of an unlikely teenage couple falling in love.
The movie is very romantic, and very touching, with some scenes that are very emotional, some that are very heart warming and sweet, and also some that are sad. I won't spoil it for those who haven't seen it.
Other than the romantic story (which is based on a book titled the same as this movie), the best thing about this movie is definitely the two lead actors, pop singer Mandy Moore and Shane West.
I can't think of two other actors who could have done a better, and more believable job than those two.
The way that they portray the romance between Landon and Jamie, the two main characters in the movie, looks very real, and is done with beauty, warmth and class. They make a perfect couple, even though they seemed so different from each other at the beginning.
As I said, the movie is very romantic, some would even say sappy. If you're not one who likes romantic movies, you may find it overly sentimental, but I think that most people will enjoy and be moved by it because it's such a beautiful movie.
It has not any cynicism, which is something that I really liked and found very refreshing after watching some of the latest so-called teen romance movies. This movie is very tastefully done.
And one other thing, this movie is mostly referred to as a teen movie, but I really think people of all ages can enjoy it. I especially think that people who experienced being in love will love it.
The DVD extras include interviews with the cast, and a video clip and day in the life of the multi-talented Mandy Moore.
I really recommend you to see this movie.
