My Favorite Movie
I went to go see "A Walk To Remember" with a group of my friends, and we all came out thinking it was one of the best movies we had ever seen. Going in thnking it was a classic love story, which from the trailer you could see "Girl likes boy, boy falls in love with girl, they live happily every after." The trailer does seem to give away the storyline, but there are twists on the movie which were a huge shock to everyone. It was such a cute movie, and Mandy Moore did a great job portraying a down-to-earth small town girl, Jamie Sullivan. She was the perfect example of a "good girl", while her co-star, Shane West, playing Landon Carter, was a great example of a "bad boy". These two made the most unlikely pair, but found themselves falling into an everlasting friendship. I wouldn't consider it a "chick flick" because it doesn't follow along the lines of typical chick flicks like "Legally Blonde", "Charlie's Angels" or "Clueless". It was a truly touching and emotional movie that I recommend anyone to go and see.
A movie you'll remember
The book is excellent. Basically Landon Carter is the most popular boy at school, and Jamie Sullivan is the totally non-cool pastor's daughter...yet they fall in love. In a subtle but powerful way, Jamie influences those around her, causing relationships to be restored and even the worst kids at school are changed.
Though the movie is also good, I think the producers created a less innocent and not as sweet Jamie. The movie would've been better if they would've stuck closer to the book.
