MY FAVORITE MOVIE IN THE WORLD
this is my favorite movie in the world. I think i cried more than during Titic, if that's possible. I mean seriosly, i have never become more obsesed with a movie in a life. I think i loved it so much because such a great guy (not at the begining) falls for a really unpopular girl. It gives me hope as I'm sure it does other girls. I especially love when Jamie (Mandy Moore)runs from everyone laughing at her right into Landon's (Shane West) arms! i want to see it over and over again! I just loved it SO much! i want to buy the dvd, get the soundtrack, and buy a poster. I have never been this obsessed with a movie before. If any of you have any doubts, just rent it, whats there to lose? It is SUCH a great movie. In all honesty, it deserves more than 5 stars. I love how Landon changes from mean boy to nice boy. theres nothing wrong with bad boy, but there is something wrong with mean boy. I also love how he was able to fall in love with Jamie even though she was so unpopular. it makes me want a boy like him really bad for my own. Be ready to laugh, cry, and hug the movie case to your heart when your done. (lol) it is the best movie in the world!
A Great Movie
After seeing an add for the movie in the magazines I subscribe to, I thought that since it was based on the best-selling book by Nicholas Sparks, I'd buy the book, then see the movie. Even though I knew from the beginning of the movie what was going to happen, there were a few surprises along the way.
The acting was excellent, especially from Mandy Moore. I never thought that one of the bubble-gum pop princesses would ever be able to act. And she sure did a good job, considering MTV viewers voted for her to be the best-breakout female actress! Way to go Mandy!
But we shouldn't forget the male lead, Shane West. The first song you hear, So What Does it All Mean?, is performed by him and his band, Jonny Was.... Listen closely when he is driving in his car, and you can hear it on the radio. (I have heard that the car he drives in is his own car theat he used for the movie!)
This is a great, classic love story, and isn't a normal teen film. The chemistry on-set is realistic, you can almost feel the love, and if you're a girl you will fall in love with Shane West, trust me - all of my friends, including me did.
I hope you buy, rent, or go see this flick at a second-showing theater, because it's good. The book is equally as good, and the soundtrack is also to the same level as the movie and book.
Hopefully you didn't make the same mistake as me. I bought the soundtrack before I watched the movie, and when I was in the theater, I was singing along with the movie. My friends sitting next to me were yelling at me to shut up!
Hope you love the movie - and from the poster -
She didn't belong.
She was misunderstood.
And she would change him forever.
(cue the music)
GO BUY IT NOW!!!!!
it's about time!!
i was so skeptical about seeing this film that i waited to rent it, boy do i regret it...i had no previous knowledge of the book or plot or anything so as i watched, it was quite touching and surprising.
mandy moore did a great job with "jamie" but much kudos goes to shane west. he was fabulous...all the emotions he showed, all the expressions on his face drew all the feelings right into me. i was surprised that it wasn't about a girl trying to get famous with her singing abilities or about drugs or stuff that all movies seem to have these days.
i especially enjoyed the innocence of this film and the courtship that the characters had. it's about time that we show our teenagers positve films. switchfoot contributed a lot to keeping this movie on its foundations. everything was great about this movie, see it if you haven't...it was even worth it for me to own it...don't forget the soundtrack...the messsage is a lot stronger and goes way beyond a church girl falling in love with popular boy.
