All I can Say is WOW! FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY!
I had no idea about what I was getting myself into with this set. I knew it would be good... but it is quite simply some of the best television that I have ever had the pleasure of beholding.
Gripping, nail-biting, with outstanding acting and top-notch writing.
All this, and cinema quality production values to boot.
Get ready to put your life on hold and watch until you are bleary eyed.
I bow down to the power of "24" and admit....
I am obsessed.

Not As Good As Season 2 FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY! FULL SKULL BABY! empty skull, sniff.
If you want to watch ALL of 24 start with season 1. But if you don't want to or can't afford to, and you have to choose between season 1 or season 2, then season 2 is your best bet.

Season 1 is good but not nearly as intense as season 2. The suspense is not pitched at as high a key. True, if you watch season 2, certain season 1 secrets will be given away. That's why I say only take a pass on season 1 if you don't plan to watch both seasons.

The story of season 2 is also infinitely better and more consistent. I found no holes in season 2's story. But season 1 is a different matter.

The problem with season 1's story is that there are certain inconsistencies, things that don't add up. You have to use your own imagination to explain them away. And for me, the sign of bad writing is when the viewer has to start writing in his head to fill in gaps and explain away apparent contradictions. These contradictions have to do with a mole within the organization Kiefer Sutherland works for. Don't worry, I'm giving nothing away. You learn that in the first five minutes. The problem is, it's impossible to figure out who the mole, the traitor, is because the mole does things no mole would do. By the end when you learn the truth and think back to all the other events in the story and how that character behaved, you balk. You say, no it just doesn't add up, at least not without a lot of further explanation, which we never receive.

That's my beef with 24 season 1.

Just the same it's very enjoyable and there's nothing else like it on tv, nothing as intense and gripping, except of course 24 season 2, which is much much better.
