A Total Delight
What happens to us when we grow up? Especially when we get everything we think we wanted...at least, when we were 13 and not thinking things through very clearly. Do we compromise, become vacant and materialistic, do dirty deeds to get ahead? Some of us do. And in the end no one's ever very happy deep inside when they do it. The key? To go back to how we felt when we were kids and we knew more clearly the difference between good and bad, before the lines blurred. We knew what made us happy, what made us feel good, what was right in the world. The key is to carry that joy with us throughout our lives. That's the message of this film, and the message comes home.
Jennifer Garner is a total delight in this film. I think that's because she has the fire and spirit and silliness inside of her to carry it off. There are so many times when I feel that she really IS 13, or a pretty close proximity. She absolutely glows at times, and there's no affectation there---she's utterly sincere. I was left feeling bubbly and energetic by the end of this film, and I don't usually feel that way after seeing overly-cute movies. It makes me want to rethink a few things myself!

A great, beautiful romantic comedy
This movie is so charming and beautiful, it's the kind of movies that gives you a lesson, I never think I would like this movie so much but now I know that I was wrong, I can assure you you'll love it too.

It's all been done before....and better
The chick flick version of Tom Hanks' "Big." Jennifer Garner is sexy and funny in this one but can't save the film from an awful script. Judy Greer gives a great comedic performance as Garner's back-stabbing co-worker and has a lot of fun with it. But besides this subplot, the film suffers from an overload of massive romantic comedy cliches and one of the most laughable movie dance sequences ever filmed. Look elsewhere for a good time with Garner, like her TV series, "Alias"
